Chicago Police Department leaders announced their safety plan Thursday ahead of the city’s 54th Pride Parade this weekend.
The parade, which kicks off at 11 a.m. Sunday, is expected to draw roughly a million people to the North Side neighborhoods of Northalsted, Lake View, Uptown and Lincoln Park.
Chicago Police Supt. Larry Snelling said the department’s goal is to prevent any outbreaks of violence after the parade ends, which he said have occurred in previous years.
Oh, just the aftermath? Wwe haven't seen anything like actual barricades capable of stopping cars and / or truck driving down sidewalks or streets. For that, you'd have to profile certain individuals, and we all know who has a habit of driving cars through crowded parade routes.
The after-party is a completely different type of profiling....and no one wants to say that one out loud either.
All the more reason to put every parade down in Grant Park, use salt trucks, steel bollards, and tire shredding devices to secure the route from terror-types, and get the rowdy morons out of the neighborhoods where they plunder the residents and attack the party-goers.

Let the parade goers know in advance that this will not be tolerated and that arrests will be made. Period. Let the rest of chicagoans (especially the liberals) and tourists see the aftermath that a certain group of youths leave. Every time after 31st street beach, north avenue beach, pride, bud billiken, etc there is trash and litter absolutely everywhere. But the residents of this city never see it because the city cleans up after the “community.” Let the city and community reap and sow, and see the consequences of their actions. Then maybe the rest of Chicago will get on board with enforcing common sense laws
When you are vastly outnumbered, you do not want to crank up a crowd over some non-sense just to prove a point. There is no political will to clear the streets. No upside. The residents there don't seem to mind. The business community love the turnout. If they don't care, end of story.

As naked men ride bicycles around them and occasionally stop to twerk at the audience. 300lb drag queens will be handing out candy to children along the way. As dusk falls, violence will begin to manifest itself as the crowd grows unruly, and intoxication from alcohol and controlled substances permeate the crowd.
Tell me again, why people go to see this debauchery and take their children with them? Don't be surprised when your child begins to have gender identity crisis issues if you do...that one is all on you and bad parenting.

That system resulted in the recovery of 170 stolen cars and 300 arrests. It is also credited with key evidence in the investigation of hit-and-run and murder cases.
However, it could also be used to assist ICE, and that is all that matters. Councilman Kevin Flynn explained it is all about Trump’s election:
“We know that it can help solve crime. But I think since maybe Jan. 20 of this year, those concerns are greatly heightened and have a new reality about them.”
Council member Sarah Parady added:
“We’re living in an era where just this last week, actually, an executive order came out instructing the Department of Justice and the FBI to look for reasons to prosecute local elected officials and activists who they believe are, quote, unquote, obstructing ICE enforcement. This kind of surveillance technology is a gift if you have that kind of ill intent, and the federal government has that ill intent right now.”
Mayor Mike Johnston also stated that they need to halt these arrests because “today’s environment is much different than when the pilot began in early 2024, and there are new community concerns surrounding this technology.”

You walk down the street waving to strangers and we stand on the sidewalk and wave back. Seems primitive for the AI age and downright stupid. Cities broke,do we really need 100 expensive disruptive city paid parties every year ? Always leads to problems when the scum bags won't enjoy their bread and circuses and go home.
